What is Osteopathy?

Spine  Osteopathy is an established system of clinical diagnosis and treatment. It focuses on the relationship between the structure of the body and the way in which it functions. When the structure is corrected, it will function efficiently with minimum wear and tear.

Damaged parts of the body such as muscles, ligaments, nerves and joints are detected and treated using manipulation, massage and stretching techniques. The aim is to restore a state of balance, ease of movement and optimum function.

What do Osteopaths treat?
  • Lower back pain and sciatica
  • Upper back tension
  • Neck and arm pain
  • Frozen shoulder (adhesive capsulitis)
  • Tennis elbow / Golfers elbow
  • Hip, knee, ankle and foot pain

  • Arthritic pain
  • Sports injuries
  • Headaches / migraine
  • Stress / depression / anxiety / fatigue
  • Eczema / asthma
  • Digestive problems

Benefits of Osteopathy
Osteopathy can provide symptomatic relief for many musculo-skeletal disorders. Through postural correction, spinal alignment, joint mobilization, and muscle relaxation, the body is encouraged back towards a place of ease.

Emphasis is placed on self-help techniques and self-management. Patients are given healthy lifestyle advice, which often includes suggested dietary changes and specific exercises to stretch and/or strengthen weak areas. This advice is tailored to the individual's needs, and patients are encouraged to take positive steps to improve their health and well-being.
